While they've tweet-sparred fiercely in the past, Chelsea Clinton sent support to Kellyanne Conway following the latest attack on the White House adviser, prompted by a photo of her kneeling on a couch in the Oval Office.

In the latest scuffle, the photo prompted Rep. Cedric Richmond (D., LA) to make a what Clinton called a "despicable" joke about Conway at last week's Washington Press Club's annual congressional dinner. (We won't repeat it, if you want to read it, follow this link.)
Clinton tweeted that Conway deserves an apology from Rep. Richmond, adding she "certainly never thought I’d write that & I mean every word."
Despicable. I hope receives the apology she deserves-certainly never thought I'd write that & I mean every word. https://t.co/NmvFwNL21d

Conway responded in kind, thanking Clinton for her support.
Thank you, . As strong women, as moms to Charlottes...appreciate you speaking out on this. https://t.co/rxBnXq553t

Rep. Richmond released a statement apologizing to Conway, saying he now understands "the way my remarks have been received by many".
Added the congressman, "The last thing I would want to ever do is utter words that would hurt or demean them. I apologize to Kellyanne Conway and everyone who has found my comments to be offensive."
