There have been rumblings for a few weeks that Captain America star Chris Evans and actress Jenny Slate were an item. But at Saturday's premiere of Slate's new film, The Secret Life of Pets, the rumors became a reality. While they didn't pose together on the red carpet, Slate did comment on her new beau.

"We didn't know each other growing up, but we grew up about half an hour away from each other. We've been friends for a while, and, yeah," she told ET Online. And if that weren't cute enough, she added, "It's kind of like I got my dream seventh-grade boyfriend."

Evans is a fan as well.

It's sweet and lovely, but predictably, press has skewed around Evans. You know, "Girl is So Happy to Be Dating Hot Hollywood Hearthrob," and so on.

And while we like Evans a lot (like, a lot), Slate is definitely the real catch here. Here's why:
