News Bite: Resistance Continues, Thanks to Joe Biden and One Million Brits

Nearly two weeks into his presidency, the resistance against Donald Trump is continuing.

His official state visit with the Queen is being fervently protested by the British people—a petition against the visit has now officially reached over one million signatures.

The petition states:

"Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the U.K. in his capacity as head of the U.S. Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen."

Because the petition has reached 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate by Parliament.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is remaining as active as ever since leaving the White House. Biden and wife Jill have announced the launch of the Biden Foundation. In a statement released this week, Biden states the foundation will be "dedicated to exploring the ways that everyone—no matter their income level, race, gender, age, or sexuality—can expected to be treated with dignity and to receive a fair shot at achieving the American Dream."

The foundation will also promote Biden's Cancer Initiative, his work to ensure the Violence Against Women Act, his support for U.S. military and their families, and his commitment to affordable higher education.

Clearly, citizens both in the U.S. and abroad are not taking the Trump administration lying down.
