In a new interview with Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, Nicole Kidman let slip that she was engaged to Lenny Kravitz before she married Keith Urban in June of 2006.
While talking about working with Kravitz's daughter Zoë Kravitz on the upcoming HBO mini-series Big Little Lies, Kidman said she already felt comfortable with her because of their history.
“Well, I knew Zoë because I was engaged to her father,” Kidman said. “It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he's a great guy.”
Before now, the world, of course, knew that they had dated in 2003, but news of an engagement was not public.
But while that's a whoa kind of revelation, that's not the part of Kidman's interview we found the most interesting.
While discussing her search for the perfect dress to wear to the Oscars, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Lion, Kidman shared that she went shoeless at a recent award show.
“My feet were killing me. It was a long dress, so I said to Keith: ‘Do you think anyone will notice?’ And I just took them off,” she told the magazine. “It was so much more comfortable. I love the way that a high heel looks, but the actual wearing of it is a whole different thing.”
Was it at the BAFTA awards?
How about at the SAG awards?
Or the Met Gala?
She's totally right, it's impossible to tell if she's wearing shoes in any of the photos above.
And there you have it, Nicole Kidman: The most relatable (hating high heels) and unrelatable (being engaged to Lenny Kravitz) human being in the entire world.
