This Badass Modeling Agency Embraces Aging by Only Signing Models 45+

We're making progress when it comes to body diversity in fashion, but age diversity is a little farther behind.

Slowly but surely, however, the industry is beginning to embrace it. Lonely Lingerie's recent campaign featured a 56-year-old model, for example.

And now, an entire modeling agency has dedicated itself to signing models who are aged 45 and up.

Moscow-based agency Oldushka exclusively represents older models, who range from 45 all the way to 85 years old.

Photographer-turned-blogger Igor Gavar originally began the project on his streetstyle blog (also titled Oldushka).

"Beauty—it’s a quality that becomes more valued with years," he told Vogue.

"I met some very interesting faces, and I wanted to do a separate project with them. A modeling agency became that sort of project."

The agency currently has 18 models signed—and they are all actively working.

Oldushka's models have appeared in Russia's highly-anticipated TSUM department store Fall 2017 lookbook, as well as local magazines and a Saint Laurent Russia campaign.

Designer Gosha Rubchinskiy praises the agency for the work it's doing for inclusivity in fashion.

"Appearing as themselves is an instrument to fight stereotypes," he says of the models. "They are an inspiring example to show that it is possible to look beautiful and be your age."

We couldn't agree more.
