Tyra Banks has a lot to "smize" about lately.
She returning to America's Next Top Model (and removing age restrictions in the process), and taking over co-hosting duties from Nick Cannon on America's Got Talent. And as if that wasn't enough, she's also about to become a lot richer.
According to Variety, Banks has listed her New York City high-rise duplex for a very respectable $17.5 million.
The 7,000-sq.-ft. duplex, located in the RiverHouse building in Manhattan’s Battery Park neighborhood, takes up the 22nd and 23rd floors of the 31-story tower.
Banks bought the five-bedroom, five full- and three half-bathroom home in 2009 for $10,131,000. And despite being Los Angeles-based, Banks told The New York Times that she spent probably another $10 million on renovating and decorating the apartment.
“New amazing ideas just kept coming and coming to me,” she told The Times, noting renovations dragged on for months.
Looking at the rich, lush colorful touches throughout the space, it seems like money well spent. The purple wallpapered ceiling in the home's dining room is a particular stand out:
As is the green ceiling and floral fabric pendant lights in the kitchen:
And we haven't even mentioned the apartment's insane view. It sits right above the Hudson River, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a view of the Statue of Liberty so good that you, too, might only want to work on shows with "America" in the title.
The apartment's layout was configured to provide maximum privacy, with separate areas for family, business, guests and staff—all of which can be closed off from the rest of the space.
On the lower floor, there's a guest wing with two bedrooms, bathroom and kitchenette, as well as a suite of offices, a fitness room, a mirrored dressing room, and hair salon (!!!!!). There's also a staff suite complete with a full kitchen and a private entrance.
Upstairs, there's another guest bedroom and a huge master suite complete with a window-lined private sitting room and mini-bar, two custom walk-in closets, and two bathrooms.
After seeing this home I finally have an answer to the question Banks always asked on America's Next Top Model.
Yes, I would like to be on top.
